The Good. The Bad. The Fugly. :)

Okay, so there is still a long way to go with this, and there are some issues, but it does prove that with some effort, we can help repair the planet that we've so greatly damaged. All the more reason to double our efforts and to continue to push, to try, to push some more, and demand change.

Um...yep. Yes indeed. :)

Just because I like this song and her "vib"...so much.  :)

More #MAGA Winning!!!

The crisis in mental health deterioration in the USA, mostly amongst Republican politicians...is alarming. I mean...this chick is bat guano fucking crazy.  :)

Um no Lauren. What you just said is 100% fiction...not unlike most of the nonsense you spew. I hate to repeat myself but, this chick also...is bat guano fucking crazy.  :)

Really? Gun toting "Bo-Bo" and her husband are the type to stir up trouble and violence?  :)

GOP TwatWaffle Lauren Boebert says she is ‘tired’ of separation between church and state:

In a Sunday speech at the Cornerstone Christian Center Boebert argued “the government is not supposed to direct the church,” falsely claiming that dividing religion from the system of government was not what the Founding Fathers intended.“I’m tired of this separation of church and state junk — that’s not in the Constitution. It was in a stinking letter and it means nothing like they say it does,” Boebert said, earning a round of applause from the audience.

1st Amendment.
It's in the 1st Amendment.
It's the first line, of the 1st Amendment.
It's the fucking first line, of the 1st Amendment.

First Amendment: Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

It is the first motherfucking line, the first one, of the 1st Amendment. you stupid bitch, lol.
#MAGA! :)

Yes, there are some Democrat morons as well, but...

Which party is it that is trying to suppress the vote?
GOP.
Which party is trying to stop porn?
GOP.
Which party is trying to remove books from schools?
GOP.
Which party wants to own womens bodies?
GOP.
Which party is it that is trying to oppress LGBTQIA?
GOP.
Which party is against legal weed?
GOP.
Which party pushes being a mindless drone for things like not kneeling out of protest, fake ass jingoistic garbage like saluting a flag, reciting the pledge of allegiance and other useless and anti-choice and anti-freedom acts?
GOP.

I really wish people would stop with the POTUS and politician worship...acting like those elected are "above" the populace. I've said this before, but will reiterate, We are the government. We the People. The USA is a representative democracy, in the form of a Constitutional Republic. The people elected work for us, we do not work for them. They are supposed to answer to us, we do not have to answer to them. If they aren't doing their jobs, if they are not representing us, we can fire them and/or impeach them by not reelecting them. This message was brought to you...by 4th grade civics class education.  :)

Alright, enough out of me. It's pretty obvious I've been affected a bit this week by political stupidity. I mean, for the first time in the history of the USA, a former POTUS home was raided and searched by the Feds looking for classified documents the stupid fuck was not supposed to have. Sheesh...

I just wish people would be nicer to each other and the planet, and do better for humanity. And yes, as usual, there was no fucking point to this blogpost.   :)

  1. Vanessa - actually there was a really strong, well articulated and coherent point to your post (but then you know that as well). Well said and keep saying it.

i have to say that from over here the Republican Party looks to have been fully captured by a demented cult, sadly that same cult has spread its poison over here as well. If Trump gets a second-term then god help us all.

    1. Point taken Poppet. I'm curious on your opinion...is Liz Truss going to be the new PM and if so, is she a right wing nut case, or just someone with no actual stance on anything...beyond self promotion and trying to win?

  2. Hi Vanessa - i think she is an empty vessel that says whatever she thinks will advance her. i also think she is too dumb to realise that the nonsense she spouts, because she thinks that is what will get her victory, has also imprisoned her in a cage from which she cannot escape even if she had the self-awareness or political skill to do so. She has become a puppet who will dance ever more feverishly to the tune of the hand that has taken her. It will destroy her, the question is how quickly and what damage will she have done by that point.

In short, we're fucked, for now at least.

    1. Well, that's not encouraging. I just don't get why conservatives, both here and there, can't back people that are at least somewhat rational and with some level of ethics and integrity. I mean, why, why, why, must they go with the far out, the vapid, the extremist, the radical...it makes no sense. It's not a game, and they, meaning the vast majority of voters, keep "losing", yet they keep right on supporting the same sort of person that makes their lives harder. I don't get it...

  3. i think it is essentially because we are living through an era of profound economic, social, cultural and technological change - and people, generally especially as they get older, fear change and we have a demographic that is an ageing one.

I do think we will eventually get through it and out the other side, well at least I hope we will.

This piece in the FT is an interesting one

  5. Ms. Chaland:

A blog like yours is hardly the place to have in depth discussions about politics, but with all due respect a few comments from the peanut gallery, if I may.

First, that the Obama administration was without scandal is a myth. Among some of the more noteworthy are:

    Benghazi

    IRS Scandal targeting conservative groups

    AP Phone Scandal…surveilling Journalist

Changes of direction on the Keystone Pipeline

National Security Agency Prism Surveillance System

    Fast and Furious

Hillary Clintons use of a private email server

Veterans Affairs…veterans dying for lack of availability of service

!.7 Billion dollars of hard currency given to the Iranians…hidden from the American public

Of course the Obama administration had the benefit of a favorable media….downplaying and not reporting on anything that would be negative to the President and his administration.

I do think the man was arrogant...and bigoted against us redneck gun toting little people from the middle of the country...just my opinion....but I will say an excellent role model for a father, and husband and a family as well. NO adultery as for Reagan, both Bush's...can't say the same for Bill Clinton or Trump..

I am conservative…not a Trump fan…..but one heck of a lot of the so called ”scandal” during the Trump administration was contrived and fabricated by liberals and Democrats and their operatives..….and continued on by a corrupt portion of the FBI…and driven into the ground by a biased media.

Almost no consequences for almost anyone involved in such a revoltingly corrupt act of deceit perpetrated by the Democratic party and its operatives. The ends justify the means seem to be a marching point of the Democratic party.

If you don’t like the policies that came out of the Trump administration that is ok…I didn’t like all of them…don’t like Trump at all..PERIOD!!!!!!…….

and I can say the same can be said for legislation and policies from every President…I like some not all.....it is just the way our system works….none of us are supposed to get “Our Way” all the time. I like some of this latest legislation from Biden.
And yes both sides have their loonies……The Dems have the Squad….according to AOC we have 7 years left to live because Climate Change will end the world in 2229…..and it is OK to turn down 25000 good jobs…for ideologue…and the squad is considerably racist in its remarks and actions.
They are all fringe groups and people......out of the mainstream completely.... and hold no water with the vast majority of us.

    Thanks for letting me share

    1. I generally like you...HS, so have avoided shredding some of what you post as "fact" even though it's not. But it is obvious that you don't watch/read/ingest enough actual *news* but are instead influnced heavily by talking points from FOX and other entertainment shows that pass themselves off as "news". Anyway, hope you enjoy your weekend. :)

  6. Thank you for generally liking me….no Fox talking points here…simply honest non biased observation of events and facts….. from many different sources…….and many years of reading, following current events, and digging for the facts……

frankly I don’t give a damn for any of our elected officials on either side….they are all corrupt and self interested..

and even though we don’t agree politically, I still hold you in high esteem for your intelligence, and your entrepreneurship …….and your willingness to listen to various points of view or at least allow them to surface.

If my comments have been viewed as disrespectful to you Ms. Chaland I apologize…..nothing personal intended…

You are quite a talented Person in many ways and I do admire all that you are and have accomplished.

    1. HS, far too many on the right, have a very confused notion of what "facts" are. Facts are reality, based on science, evidence, data, that which is peer reviewed, etc. Some people conflate facts with "opinion". So do some on the left, but they pale in comparison, volume wise. The reason the so called "main stream media" mocks or ignores much of what the far right spews, is because it's not true.

Example: The AP (Associated Press) is a business where multiple sources contribute. It is vetted via the peer review process. The AP is published and republished by more than 1,300 newspapers and broadcasters, and operates 248 news bureaus in 99 countries, plus the AP Radio Network.

Reuters is an international news organisation that employs around 2,500 journalists and 600 photojournalists in about 200 locations worldwide and is one of the largest news agencies in the world. Also peer reviewed, cross referenced, double and triple checked. Both use scientists, doctors, lawyers, scholars, and so on for their sources and fact checking.

No sane person has ever questioned the veracity of PBS reporting. Then there are periodicals like Time, Newsweek etc. Online one could check the details from DW News, CNA News, France News, Democracy Now, Al Jazeera etc...to get various information from a multitude of sources, absorb that information, digest it and draw ones own conclusions. I could go on... but then some use for "information" people like Hannity, Carlson, some FOX News skanks that only got hired cuz they're "down" with upskirt photos from the camera to boost ratings...huge difference, massive. I trust you see my point. The "mainstream" media is...usually/often/nearly always correct, accurate, right and on point. Another example, 99% of the world knows our last election was fair, clean, honest and accurate. The 1% (less actually) of humanity, Trumpians, that contend the election was stolen, are mocked, they should be, laughed at, they should be, and ignored...as they should be. The same could be taken and extrapolated out to the majority of what "conservative" media states...it is simply not true. Anyway, enjoy your afternoon. :)

  7. Thanks for continuing to talk with me…..I don’t watch Carlson or Hannity or Ingram….never have….I do watch Special Report with Bret Baier….and Stuart Varney of FBN….I can think and analyze for myself what I read and hear. I don’t need a middle man to tell me what and how to think….I don’t mean this to be egotistical, but cheez….I can think for myself…decide for myself..I didn’t just fall off the turnip wagon…

    I believe that

Everything I shared with you is supported by facts in the public realm….from various news media…..the interpretation of those facts…… left to the individual…..the thoughts are my own….from empirical observation of events and various reporting…

I do appreciate you allowing me to voice my perspective….but if you do find it too much, just let me know and I will quietly slip away.

    1. Okay...how you see it, is how you see it. An example of what you called a scandal? "Changes of direction on the Keystone Pipeline." That was not a scandal..that was a good thing. Just because a policy decision goes against what you, or someone else likes, does not make it a "scandal". :)

  10. HS was wrong on every point but the "Benghazi Scandal" was by far the most egregious! They asked for funding for security and the republicants denied the funding so they actually caused the situation! Then they "investigated" Hillary Clinton 9 separate times and when they subpoenaed her, she actually showed up and testified for 11 hours and did not take the 5th a single time! HS can take their both-siderisms and shove it! I am none too happy with the corporate democrats in our party and wish we had more progressives. That Bezos pays no taxes is absurd! We have been going down hill since ronnie ray gun but the level of fascism today is terrifying. If there are more republicants than democrats, why do they have to use voter suppression to win a single election? If you want progress, elect progressives!

Thanks for cutting an old guy a little slack. Some of my sources…AP, Reuters, Washington Post, CNN, CBS, Fox, New York Post, ABC, local paper, local tv and radio, among others. I shall seek to broaden even more.

    My apologies if I offended.

    1. HS, you did not offend me. I do think however, that someone that does not fully inform themselves is "offending" and insulting their own intelligence. I mean, it's like getting one bid to fix a roof or plumbing or something right? The one person doing the bid, might be wrong, or shady, lying and overcharging. So people get 3 or more bids to have diverse opinions and pricing, options etc. They owe it to themselves to be as well informed as possible. :)

  13. The thing about the internet phenomenon is that a village idiot like Marjorie Taylor Greene was once just that. Now she can connect with a bunch of other idiots and become an army. These people binge watch a Handmaid's Tale and dream of making it a reality. We're not that far away from that reality. We took a giant step closer to that with four years of Trump. Better wake up folks before it's too late.
