I've mentioned a few times watching various YouTube podcasts, and the one below is amazing. A bit of background, (some of this was new to me) there is a lady named Suze Randall who is a photographer who shot massive amounts of porn for decades. I guess if people used to buy a lot of those magazines, they will recognize her name from the photo credits, and if you're old enough, recognise her from posing nude herself. She shot photos (and later video) for herself, for Playboy, Hustler and numerous other adult magazines. Her husband, Humphry Knipe is a writer and was involved, and later their daughter Holly Randall followed them in the business.

 

Anyway, the parents were partiers, bounced around the world, did a lot of drugs, were swingers, did a lot of orgies and so on. When the Internet was "new" Suze put her decades of photos on her own website and made a fortune. I mean a fortune. Apparently at one point they were making $8000 a day, yes per day. Her husband was the guy that came up with the idea for the Hustler "Meat Grinder" photo, which caused all kinds of controversy. 

So they bought a ranch near Malibu many years ago (when land was somewhat cheap) where Suze did much of her photography and had parties and orgies, raised a family, had a bunch of horses (apparently one kicked Suze in the face and she lost the sight in one eye). While doing this, they also fought the government over censorship, were involved with the Traci Lords scandal, and just generally said "Fuck You!" to society, did what they wanted, lived full lives, loved every minute of it, have no regrets and...its so refreshing (and educational) seeing people who have no fucks to give about PC nonsense, about stupid ass government/religious laws, and actually took a stand on things in life. It's a great reminder that people like them, and Larry Flynt (like him or not) put everything on the line to stand up for the First Amendment, for free speech, at a time when few others had the spine to do so. Without them, we'd still be living in fear of being incarcerated for possession of "obscene" books, movies and photos, which the far right of the GOP is trying to bring those laws back by the way, every, single, damn day. I throughly enjoyed it, and assume some of you will as well.  :) 

 

Traci Lords

Traci Lords (born Nora Louise Kuzma; May 7, 1968) is an American actress, singer, and former pornographic actress. Lords got into the adult film industry by using a fake birth certificate to conceal that she was two years under the legal age of 18. Lords starred in adult films and was one of the most sought-after actresses in the adult entertainment industry during her career. When the FBI acted on an anonymous tip that Lords was a minor during her time in the industry, and that pornographers were distributing and selling these illegal images and videotapes, the resulting fallout led to prosecution of those responsible for creating and distributing. In addition, all but the last of her adult films were banned as child pornography.
