This recent ruling won't mean much to most people, but it has to do with regulation of adult content.
The short version is back during the evil Bush years when they were babbling about "freedom" his insane AG John Ashcroft (the nutcase with a messianic complex who anointed his own head with Crisco in some bizarre ritual with his father) based on the fruitcake religious rights opposition to porn came up with laws to try to shut it down...under the guise of "protecting children".
So, they harassed adult website owners (and Hollywood, publishers, etc.) over keeping records in a manner that was so complex, virtually no one could do it. It was under the threat of a 5 years prison sentence, for each charge....for "record keeping".
A decade or so later, after they wasted millions and millions of dollars, and doing 2 or 3 investigations (literally, that's all the did) the courts are still wasting time with this. Just one more example of how modern era Republican leaders, are not "true" Republicans (small government, none intrusive into the private lives of adults, etc.) and their going against free speech as they always do, shows how unpatriotic they are as well.
Fuck them.
