Tumblr, once a major force in social media, founded by a 19-year-old and bought by Yahoo for $1.1 billion, has been unloaded by Verizon Media for far less than that to Auttomatic, the parent company of WordPress. The companies did not disclose financial terms but multiple press reports pegged the value at less than $20 million.
Some people are saying 20 million, some others are saying 3 million, but either way...investors took a bath to the tune of somewhere around a billion fucking dollars. Traffic tanked after they decided to "ban all porn". You know how quite often those high-powered, over paid, golden parachute grabbing, egotistical arrogant and pompous CEO's act...yea, well they are often...fucking idiots. :)
