You Wanna Read This! (Or Maybe Not.) :)

For those tired of Fetlife or other types of dating sites, Fetster seems to be growing and showing potential. And from what I understand, it is free...as in 100% free. No shady trying to sell you upgrades to be able to run or reply to ads or whatever, just...totally free.

Vertical staircase in Brazil.
I get vertigo just looking at the picture...while sitting down, at home.  :)

Insane. Absolutely totally and completely insane.

I don't get this. I thought the point of being a parent, of schools, of reading, of libraries, was to educate your kids and the masses. The objective being to expand minds, to learn about new ideas, different people, different cultures and history, biology, facts and science. The point being to inculcate fertile minds so they'd not only be able to deal with life better, in a positive and productive manner, but to be able to go beyond what we now know, using critical thinking skills, and advance the cause and status of humanity. How is that possible when roughly half the nation wants to keep their kids as dumb as a pile of bricks? The censorship, the book burnings, the endless news articles about the GOP doing everything they can to create a fictional and sanitized viewpoint of America, Christianity, our history, about genetics, about biology, and life as a whole...what the fuck is wrong with these people?

I simply do not understand why they fear knowledge. It's insane and very scary. It's increasingly akin to fundamentalist Muslims (The Taliban, etc) where they send young boys to a Madrassa, who are then taught only about the Koran and indoctrinated to hate anyone not like them, to loathe, fear and despise so called "infidels". How do the people that are in favor of this think this is going to turn out for their kids...and for America and the world? You know, we already did this, this was done for hundreds of years, a long time ago...it even had an accurate name, it was called...The Dark Ages.

Really? I mean...I, and billions of other people (literally, billions, as in 99% of the world) knew this pushing two years ago. :)

How Twisted Sister Outclassed Congress.  A bit of history for those either too young to know about this, or that missed it when it happened. It's also a good example of how Democrats, so called "liberals"...were not at all like most are today, in very recent history. Conservative Democrats could be as backwards, bullheaded, uptight, pro-censorship, frigid and anal about social issues as the GOP is today. And in the era immediately prior to that...even worse.

I'm not a huge twerking fan (might have posted about her before) but Lex has the booty, the body, the moves and skill to make twerking an erotic art form.  :)

Love this song, love these guys, love the standard straight forward Rock and Roll. :)

Someone mentioned my YouTube channel in a blog comment. I guess they were unaware I had one. To be honest, most of the time I forget I have one as well, lol. Anyway, it's just videos of furniture, clothing, implements and fetish stuff I've created. I have the comments turned off as I don't want to have to deal with moderating it, and I think hypersensitive YouTube has it set as "adult" so people have to login to view them, but should anyone care to go watch some clips and do some of that "Thumbs Up" stuff, (as many times as you like, every damn day, 57 times a day, lol) it would help me get more traffic and be appreciated.  :)

  2. Ms. Chaland:

I must say you certainly know how to start a blog and grab people’s attention: A most lovely beginning…..so many thoughts running through my head. The man…well one of my favorite positions…and the Woman just a beautiful sight to behold. Thanks for sharing her beauty.

And per usual quite an eclectic collection of thought starters and stimulators: of men’s brains for sure.

Please wait a minute Ms. Chaland; WAIT….. A…… MINUTE!!! I need to check out “Lex”…again…and maybe one more time….Holy Cow! I never knew what “twerking” was all about….but after that exhibition I can imagine much jerking to the twerking. LOL! And a new definition of a whole lot of shaking going on!!!!

    Elvis would be envious!

I am with you Ms. Chaland on the Iowa library closing…cannot imagine that this is the real reason for the closure….I can imagine no hard books anymore closing libraries or real interest in attending given the internet option….but still, I think it is not the salad dressing, but the salad itself that we should be interested in….people’s hearts, minds, spirits….the way they live their lives.

And yes the Democrats of the past did share some of the same traits as we conservative Republicans…yes backwards, bullheaded, uptight, frigid and anal….not sure how you knew that we like anal…and I left out pro censorship…which I think has even gotten to be more of a Democrat trait….with stifling conservative speech on college campuses and in public speaking events and on social media and in the liberal media of all kinds…

Democrats own the pro censorship label for certain..

I do believe that back in those old days though we all wanted the same things for our country….it was just a matter of how we accomplished the mission…..we all wanted the poor to be cared for…want good health care for everyone…good education for all….but from the beginning of our country two different approaches….Strong Central government…or more power at the local level…one about individual freedom from onerous government….and another approach that says the Federal government can do it better.

These days I believe both sides want something different for America….not just a different approach to the same problem…….and the divide is demonstrating that….not how we get there….maybe socialism vs capitalism from a big picture view….Big Government vs individual freedoms….and if one doesn’t agree with one’s way of thinking then that person isn’t a good or worthwhile person….we truly need leadership in this country…..and to stop the infighting and seeking power. Sorry to be on a soap box.

I will say this about conservatives….in my experience conservatives are far kinkier and more sexually active than liberals….we just don’t flaunt it….

And those buttheads you speak about, I do believe is a very small minority of the leadership. I do not believe either party speaks for most of us….and if they think they do, they will soon pay at the polls.

Ms. Chaland, Thanks for a nice post. Got my blood flowing today. Which is a good thing.

  3. Ms. Chaland……I did go back and read more about the situation in Iowa….I guess I immediately presumed the problem was the staff… that was part of the LBGTQ community….but the issue was really the books in the library….and some that were not in the library..the folks wanted as well…

It does remind me of my youth when folks were afraid to allow a gay man to talk with or be friends with young boys or young men, believing that just by association it could cause someone to be gay…

In this case some folks believe that if a young person reads about the transgender community it can sway the person to be trans….or something like that…..and I suppose it can make a younger person believe it is mainstream….which depending on your perspective is in the mainstream of who people are..

For me I have come to believe that being gay or trans is something that is part of one’s makeup….whatever the reason….from birth or from environmental factors…and no one could talk me into either as my lifestyle for life, unless I truly wished for this…

So I do think we have a lot of work to do in some areas of the country.

  4. The earliest records of trans people? "Sumerian and Akkadian texts from 4500 years ago document priests known as gala who may have been transgender."

Gay? "Scientists perceive homosexual behavior in animals to different degrees. According to Bruce Bagemihl, same-sex behavior (comprising courtship, sexual, pair-bonding, and parental activities) has been documented in over 450 species of animals worldwide."

Other scientists stipulate they see evidence of homosexuality in the animal kingdom in 1000's or even 10's of 1000's of species. I guess it all comes down to what traits and characteristics one views as determining "gay". And we, human beings, are animals and part of the animal kingdom as well. Primates. Bipedal perambulators. Hominids.

Either way, its not a choice, and even if it was...so what? Equal rights for people should apply to genetics or choice. Otherwise we could go down the road of discriminating against say...any woman with short hair (choice) or any man with long hair (choice) or those that want a tattoo (choice) and on and on.

But the main point, as you outlined, is how "reading" about this is a threat? That would mean reading about Muslims, or Jews might be a "threat" to the belief and resolve of Christians. Are they so weak that reading about other religions or alternate sexual habits or lifestyles is a threat? I mean, holy fuck...how fragile are they? :)

  6. Thanks for the heads-up about Fetster will check out. Also, as someone who has a real fear of heights (except in planes - no i agree makes no sense) i completely agree about that staircase. i mean, they seriously expect anyone to use it, even in a fire? i would but only if slung over some big and strong shoulders.

As for the twerking video, it would be better if she had taken a leaf from your book and done sans pants, but impressive i agree. Whenever i try it ends up simply as comedy gold.

    1. Hey Poppet, I hope that site works for you, whatever it is you're intending to use it for. And yes, on the rest, the stairs, the naked twerking and the twerking comedy...myself included. :)

  7. Re: Narrow house.

FYI - Edna St. Vincent Millay lived in a similar house in NYC on Bedford St. in the West Village. Last time it sold I think was 3M. This is 10 feet wide, I think. Margaret Mead lived there too. Just north of Barrow on West side of the street... maybe...81? 79? (building number)

    1. Interesting. Crazy insane prices, and unbelievably small spaces. I just don't understand how prices can be that high, but then I live in a smaller state in a small community so we simply don't see that demand for housing, and have an abundance of space.
