Jimmy Carter...

Jimmy Carter is in bad health, he's 98 years old, and won't be here much longer. On the one hand, a certain sorrow could be felt about his situation, but the other side of that is...he's finishing his life. That he is pushing 100 and has had a fantastic life, nature following its...natural course, most people would feel fortunate to have that long of a life.

I've posted dozens and dozens of posts about him. I have deep admiration for him, for the way he conducted himself, for his charity, benevolence, altruism, his composure, his ethics and honesty, his integrity and...just about everything about the man.

Some people have and will try to "slam" his term as president, which, well most of them are, well to be blunt...stupid. A few always refer to the Iran Hostage Crisis, without knowing what he tried to do to rectify it. Some will talk about inflation, without knowing that the president, regardless of who it is, has virtually no control over inflation.

Anyway, there are very few people on the planet that have done as much good, that have earned as much respect for him that I have...and the world would be far better off with more people like him.

  4. He was actually on a team that helped Canada avoid a nuclear melt down in 1958. He put solar panels on the roof top of the White House and ronnie ray gun took them down. Had we pushed for re-newable energy back when Carter did, we would have bankrupted the middle east, long before 9/11 and global warming might have been averted. Baker & Co. went to France to get the Iranian's to hold the hostages another 111 days to make ronnie ray gun look good. Carter was handed a burning bag of dig sh!t with the economy, the oil crises and paying for the Vietnam war which was the beginning of the political divide that the greedy oil party started.

    1. All that you said is spot on. He also worked on the nuclear submarine program during his 4 years in the Navy and was a lieutenant. The guy did a lot in his lifetime...

  7. For certain President Carter and his wife have been wonderful role models for the rest of us, of how to live a life of service caring for and respecting and serving the needy in our communities…..they are self effacing and clearly put others before themselves….history will decide his place….but his time and contribution as President is dwarfed by the great man he is, and his wonderful service to us all.

    1. Well stated. One of my favorites posted below. He never tried to make a single penny off of this....not one single penny.

"In 1986, when the Carter Center began their work in the fight against Guinea worm disease, there were 3.5 million cases in roughly 21 countries. In 1994, LifeStraw partnered with The Carter Center to design a simple mesh filter to remove Guinea worm larvae from drinking water. At the time, there were more than 100,000 cases in 18 countries spanning Africa, South Asia and the Middle East. In 2020, LifeStraw donated 390,500 LifeStraw Guinea worm filters to The Carter Center for use in five countries. By the end of 2021, there were only 15 human cases reported in four countries. Since the partnership’s inception, LifeStraw has provided The Carter Center with more than 40 million filters."
