Emad Mishko Tamo, a 14-year-old boy who now lives in Winnipeg, was held captive by ISIS in Iraq for years before reuniting with his family in Canada last year. Now, he is working to bring new bicycles to all Yazidi refugee children in his new home.
The comet Wirtanen will grace Earth's skies over the next few weeks as it makes its closest pass to our planet in over 400 years. The "Christmas Comet" will be visible to the naked eye during its closest approach on December 16.
Finally a church sign I can agree with. I feel very blessed to have been born in a time & place where opportunity is *somewhat* equal. And I also am very blessed to have been born with reasonably decent genetics & health. Those two alone are already a "head start" compared to what most people around the planet were blessed with. That makes me feel quite lucky and very grateful. :)
