So, here I am, sitting here, all alone, bored, it's raining/sleeting/snowing outside, some sort of something wet coming out of the sky, and I got curious what people are searching for, sex wise, on Google. Naturally, I fired up the "porn machine" (computer) and went to Google Trends. Obviously I am only searching within the somewhat narrow realm of things I'm interested in. I mean, I did not run a search for "Submissive Furries Dominated and Scolded by Matronly FemDoms" nor did I run a deep dive search for "Oil Drums of Anal Lube for Sale" or anything like that...though both sound like fine fetishes...just, for other people, not for me. :)
Anyway, I entered a few keywords, set it for 5 Years search, and the results are below. There was a massive dip in pretty much all of them, about 2 or so years ago, which I have no understanding of. That was not really pandemic related, time wise I don't think, so am not sure what would have made so many people cease sex searches and be focused on other things, but obviously something was distracting them from their carnal thoughts of...carnality. Anyway...

DeleteCould be a technical reason. Better counting of only human visits, for example. Web scrapers could potentially account for that difference. Similar to the drop in followers experienced by accounts on Twitter/Youtube/etc. after "bot purging."

Tamer, you could well be right. I know little about how they compile data, human versus bots and all that. As for "extended content" no, he was as "extended" as much as possible. :)

ReplyDeleteThis doesn’t surprise me much at all….the younger generation tends to be more concerned with a a potential partner’s politics then how good a lover the partner may be…or there sexual persuasion….in any context….the activities you have highlighted as declining are all related to dominant Women and submissive men…..while I do believe that there are more dominant Women in the younger generations, turning away men for their politics I think has led to a decline in these wonderful activities you have highlighted….and of course less sex of any kind…which does mean less sex of the Femdom variety….

HS, as I have posted about a few times, according to stats from various places around the world, there is less sex, less marriage, less dating, less guys that want to get married, less babies being made...less, less, less. I think part of it is economic, partly due to the silly dating apps, partly due to social media, and yes, as you mentioned, in the West at least a *huge* part of it is political divide.
