Tomb of the Whipping - Goddess Inanna.

The Tomb of the Whipping is an Etruscan tomb in the Necropolis of Monterozzi near Tarquinia, Italy. Dated to approximately 490 BC and named after a fresco of two men who flog a woman in an erotic context.

 

Inanna was the ancient Sumerian goddess of love, beauty, sex, desire, fertility, war, combat, justice, and political power.

 

 

The "Burney Relief," which is believed to represent either Ishtar or her older sister Ereshkigal.
