Ever notice that media (Cable, TV, print, sites, blogs, social media, etc.) in a shallow and greedy desire to get higher ratings and views feel compelled to do a "competitive beat down" on each other and politicians? Everything is dark and gloomy, gloom and doom predictions, elevating the fear level, making you afraid, making you feel like you have to be "connected" 24/7 so in the event something happens...you'll be in the know! Why must you be connected? If a flood/fire/war happens on the other side of the world, are you going to grab a mop/hose/gun and go clean up? No, probably not. So if there is little I personally can do about it, why do I have to "Be First" to know? Ego? Am I so shallow that my ego dictates that I know that XYZ happened before you do, or my neighbor, one of my dogs or....my vibrator? News flash....my vibrator is pretty damn dumb and not a threat to me, but might be a sexual threat to my submissive husband. I mean my dildo is sexually superior to my blue balled cuckold. :)
Why is that? Why do they have that notion? Good news, according to them, doesn't sell "copy".
I mean people are happy when watching sports, or shows like "The Voice", baby colts or some animals frolicking in a field, watching kids play, or old people square dancing, porn, comedy...you name it, and people subscribe to, pay for, click, thumbs up, hit the like button, hearts, pass on, share, retweet on all of those genres of "media".
My point is they could make money off of bad news, and good news, and boring average things that happen in everyday life. Good things? I mean good things do happen. So do bad things. But the world has always had problems. Natural disasters, war, crime, famine, civil liberty issues, and yet somehow society and civilization has survived. They don't have to dial in on negativity, in order to make money. Editing, enhancing, creating what we see, being formatted by them, is really just appealing to the lowest common denominator, the bottom of the barrel.
Life can be hard, it also can be fantastic. Right now the USA is deeply divided (as are other spots in the world). But instead of letting them continue to add to this divide, we should all realize, we all need and rely on each other not only for happiness, but to survive. The world is full of quality people, that view each other as a collective, lifting up others so all of humanity benefits. Doing things for the common good, progressing slowly and surely, assures everyone of a better tomorrow.
I have no idea what might happen in the upcoming year. I'm not clairvoyant, a soothsayer, don't read palms, tea leaves, can't see into the future. What I do know however, is that I can control how much of the negative nonsense I allow into my life, and how it affects me. My desire is to be more at peace with the world, with other human beings, with the Universe and my place in it. That's really about all I can control. My little space, my little corner, whom I interact with, how I comport myself, my ethics, integrity and personal agenda. I can only try to maintain a positive and optimistic attitude. Just me being so very nice, happy, kind and polite, as I always am.
And anyone that doesn't like it...can kiss my ass, lol. :)
I really couldn't agree with you more....
ReplyDeleteBut can I kiss your ass anyway?
Love
Kaaren
Lol...if you think you must. :)
DeleteSex sells ! What this country and the world needs is a 24/7 total sex network. The news with huge hooters and/or cocks being shown while the news is read. Commercials for nothing but sex toys, porn, and fetish apparel. It could be called the Ass, Tits, Cocks, and Pussy Network.
ReplyDeleteI'm all for it. Much rather see people fucking than arguing over stupid things. :)
DeleteVanessa 's already working on it. I'm certain there was some point I was going to disagree with but that thought disappeared as her photo slowly appeared. Thanks for sharing :)
ReplyDeleteQuite welcome. :)
