Downsizing and Becoming a Minimalist.

A few years back I decided to sort of simplify my life and try to be a bit more serene and peaceful. It went well, I felt better, happier, and now I'm going to do "Phase 2" and take it even further.

Life just gets so complicated and busy, and one day you wonder what you're doing, you question what you're trying to achieve....and why? You question of yourself if your current agenda is really bringing happiness, or are you just staying busy and going through the motions. People often act or think that if they're not in constant motion they're missing out on something...or that they have "no life". But a slow and relaxed life does not equate "no life". People often confuse the expenditure of "busy" energy with no real productivity, or actual accomplishment, and whether or not it contributes to their quality of life.

And then sometimes things go wrong. It can be...whatever. An illness, a divorce, a death of a relative, that stuns you and sets you back. So? You rest, readjust, move forward and press on. That's what will eventually happen...to anyone that has to tackle a serious and unplanned challenging circumstance in life. There's nothing wrong with that. Things happen to us in life and we just have to keep going right.

But with recent events (last election, wars, migrants, Trump family, Brexit and so on) I just loathe how disgustingly greedy our society has become. There is a dearth of compassion, benevolence, altruism...its like the rat race or the hamster wheel with people just going through the motions, trying to best each other, have one dollar more than their neighbor, its something I've always abhorred, and more so with the current lot in our nations capital.

So, I'm downsizing, donating, simplifying, and am looking forward to it. I want to go the "other way" from how so much of our society world is trending. The more the advertisers scream about how I "must" have some new item, the more Trump brags about being born rich, the more I see the disgusting way those fleeing from war ravaged areas, immigrants just looking for safety and dignity, just searing for shelter, food, water for their kids.....and they are mocked, denied, harassed...I just want to be "opposite" all of that.

No point to this post....just blathering.  :)
