Angela Ponce, who currently holds the title of Miss Spain, is the first transgender woman to compete in the Miss Universe pageant after a policy stating participants had to be "naturally born" women was reversed in 2012. The 2018 pageant will take place in Bangkok, Thailand, on Sunday.
