David Brooks, a "real", old school, sensible, logical, rational & sane...lifelong Republican.
David Brooks is a Republican in the vein of Ronny Raygun, Bush 41, Bob Dole, Chuck Hagel, George Will, etc. Fox Newsies and Trumpians call him a RINO. Obviously any political brand or label is not homogenous, but for several decades, perhaps Ford through Bush 41 their ideology was similar. The whole RINO tag is silly to me...and is mostly promulgated by GOP versus GOP, which brings me enormous hilarious glee. Either way, what was the GOP is dead, at least for the time being. Modern day GOP is nothing like it was for about 50 years or so. But any old timer GOP person, that version, is or has been speaking out against Trumpism for the last year or two (including Brooks), though the spineless cretins should have been doing so for much longer than that.
Though I would have preferred otherwise, as in perhaps they would have grown a soul and more emotional intelligence and maturity, watching the GOP crater, deteriorate, crash and burn, seeing them cannibalize each other, is fucking funny. The sad part is they are bringing down the whole USA, and in other countries, their leaders, are doing the same thing as well.
From an ideological perspective, and a reality based one, I have extended the offer to other people, many times, to show me a country, anywhere, any place on the planet, run by conservatives, where the peoples lives are better. Meaning where people have economic prosperity, or at least security, longer lives, happier lives, autonomy, freedom, health care, education, civil rights, a decent standard of living, details like that. No one has ever done so because....it's not going to happen, as in they can't, because its not possible. Any country run by conservatives, (China, Russia, Saudi Arabia, etc.) the lives of the populace sucks. What is a better alternative? Any country that has democracy, a free press, free speech, those that spend a higher percent of their GDP on education, infrastructure, social services, healthcare, those that take care of their kids, disabled and elderly, those that make the effort for egalitarianism, that don't oppress people, those that are not war monger's, so to some exent, Nordic countries, Canada, some in South America, a few EU countries, a few in Asia, and others. Obviously none are perfect, but compare those to the few conservative run countries I mentioned above and...night and day difference in quality and quantity of life. For me, that's all I need, those facts and that evidence. I may dislike the Dems here in the USA sometimes, but I can acknowledge that "conservatism"...is a mental and social disorder. :)

The word Islam means peace and submission. Muslims greet each other by saying 'Salaam alaykum' meaning 'peace be upon you'. Like the majority of followers of other faiths, the majority of Muslims believe in seeking a just and peaceful world. Plus, you know, "Christ" being the person in "Christmas"...he who taught about love, peace, charity, forgivness, benevolence and all that, according to "them" (them being religious fundamentalists), as in the same confused "them" who pose with fucking assault rifles. Makes no sense. :)
